Shop actions are really effective as part of a campaign on a particular company or in response to an urgent appeal. They go straight to the heart of a company, its retail outlets, and target the people the company most cares about: its consumers. Shop actions can be quite daunting at first, but they are also really rewarding and fun- so get a few mates together and give it a go!

Writing a letter to a company about workers' rights issue is possibly the most powerful action an individual can take towards achieving changes in working conditions. It's when consumers have put pressure on companies to produce clothes under decent conditions that we have seen improvements in the conditions in the supply chains of companies like Nike and Gap.

For tips and information to help you get started, and to keep on writing, download the full action sheet in Pdf file below.

Writing a letter to a company about workers' rights issues is one of the most powerful ways to achieve changes in working conditions. Why? Because it tells companies that consumers care, and responding to consumers' demands means making more money.
