Live to work or work to live? Why we need a global Living Wage day
Do you live to work, or work to live? Can you cover your basic needs, but also have enough to buy books, save for security and go to the dentist on a regular basis?
And can you guess how many garment workers can do the same? Take our quiz to find out.
On 25 September, our global Living Wage Day, we are joining Clean Clothes Campaign allies across the world to call for a wage that covers a decent life for each and every worker.
We acknowledge the essential role garment workers play in society and the value of their work. The right to a living wage is a human right, as it is written in the Universal declaration of Human Rights: “Everyone who works has the right to just and favorable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence of human dignity.” There is no dignity on poverty wages!
Test your knowledge, share your thoughts on the need for a living wage and send the quiz to friends and family.
On Living Wage Day and every day until we win it, we re-commit to the fight for decent wages for all!
